Funeral Friday for Arthur M. Bush

Funeral services for Arthur M. Bush, 74, who died Sunday morning, 16 January 1949, in an Ely, Nevada hospital of complications resulting from a broken hip received in a fall, Dec. 27, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Malad Second Ward.

Mr. Bush was born March 26, 1874 at Malad, the son of Robert and Amella Brockway Bush. When a boy he completed all grades available at the Malad district school and then attended the mission school of the Presbyterian church. Upon completion of this work he received a teacher’s certificate following an examination, but chose farming as a vocation rather than teaching. On December 28, 1899, he married Rebecca Davis and to this union eight children were born, six of whom survive. Mr. Bush was engaged in farming from early manhood until 1942. In November, 1943, he went to McGill, Nevada and was employed by the Kennicott Copper Corporation until the time of his death.

Mr. Bush is survived by his wife; daughter, Mrs. R. W. Purcell, Bountiful, Utah; five sons, A. H. Bush, Idaho Falls; Lester D. Bush, McGill, Nevada; James Clifford Bush and George D. Bush, Malad; and Marion D. Bush, San Francisco; two brothers, A. W. Bush and Robert L. Bush, Malad; and 13 grandchildren.
