Arthur John Fry

FRY, ARTHUR JOHN, August 21, 1892 – December 17, 1973

Funeral services will be conducted at Benson Funeral Home Friday for Arthur John Fry, age 81, who died Tuesday of natural causes in McKay-Dee Hospital, Ogden.

The Rev. S. Norman Naugler will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery.

Mr. Fry was born August 21, 1892 at Banwell, Somerset, England, a son of James and Harriett Rose Fry. He moved with his family to Ferndale, South Wales in April, 1898, where he received his education. He worked in the coal mines there from 1905 until 1912 when he came to the United States. He and his brother Joseph H. Fry, homesteaded in West Elkhorn and operated their farm until they retired in 1963 and moved into Malad to make their home.

He married Mabel Hedstrom March 31, 1926 in Daniels. Mrs. Fry died December 8, 1971.

Mr. Fry was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a son and a daughter, George Fry, Ogden, and Mrs. Richard (Fern) Van Wey, Fullerton, CA; six grandchildren and a great grandchild. Also surviving is his twin brother, Joseph Harry Fry, Malad.
