Services Wednesday For Mrs. Morris

Funeral services were held Wednesday for Mrs. Annie Mitchell Morris, 76, who died Saturday, January 3, 1959 at the Oneida Hospital of pneumonia.

Bishop Myron Sorensen conducted the services at the Second Ward LDS Chapel. James A. Smith offered the prayer at the home and Gordon Crowther and Thomas Burrows offered the prayers at the chapel. Speakers were Golden Willie, S.A. Hendricks and Bishop Sorensen who also read the obituary. Musical numbers were duets, Molly Hyer and Eldon Corbridge; Donna Jean Salvesen and June Crowther; solo, Louis Yearsley. Accompanists were Wesley Crowther and Myra Jean John who also played the prelude and postlude.

Raiford Benson dedicated the grave.

Mrs. Morgan was born Oct. 12, 1882 at Logan, a daughter of William and Margaret Risenmay Mitchell. She was reared and educated there and was married there to George Morris Dec. 18, 1901.

In the spring of 1908 they moved to the Daniels section of Oneida County where they homesteaded. In 1936, they moved to Malad. Mr. Morris died in October, 1955. A son, Delmar, died in 1957.

Mrs. Morris was a member of the LDS church and had served in the Sunday School, Primary and Relief Society organizations. A grandson, Khalil Morris, is now filling an LDS mission in the Samoan Islands.

Surviving are two sons and two daughters: Orlando Morri, Arco; Leslie Morris, Mrs. Arthur (LaRue) Tew and Mrs. Lorin (Annalyle) Richards, Malad; 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two brothers and a sister, John Mitchell, Salt Lake City; Oliver Mitchell, Dillon, Mont.; Mrs. James A. Smith, Logan.
