MRS. VANDERWOOD DIES IN MISSOURI

Mrs. Anna Vanderwood died at independence, Missouri, Tuesday from an attack of heart trouble. Mrs. Vanderwood, accompanied by her son William, left Malad two weeks ago last Tuesday to visit with her son and his family at Independence Missouri. Wednesday evening of this week a telegram announcing her death was received in Malad.

Mrs. Anna Vanderwood, who was formerly Miss Anna Eliason was born in Sweden on July 15,1855. She came to Soda Springs with her parents in 1863 and was married to John Vanderwood of Malad in 1872. She had been a resident of Malad since that time. Her husband died in 1908.

Mrs. Vanderwood was a lovable woman, admired and respected by all who knew her. She was a faithful member of the Josephite church.

Mrs. Vanderwood is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Anna Belscamper of Fredonia, Kansas; Mrs. Mary Thompson of Montana: Mrs. Sophie Johnson of Kirkland, Washington, Mrs. Kate Kunkle of Portland; and three sons. J. E. of Independence, Mo; Jos. J. and William of Malad.

The remains will be brought to Malad either today or tomorrow and the funeral will be held at the St. John meeting house on Monday. October 23, at 2 o’clock.
Mrs. Vanderwood is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
