Alice Samsel Woodmancy

BRIGHAM CITY – Alice Samsel Woodmancy, 87, died on Sunday, March 22, 1998 in Ogden, at the McKay-Dee Hospital of natural causes.
She was born on February 18, 1911 in Brigham City, a daughter of Walter K. and Abigail Rosenbaum Samsel.
Alice married Elton Walter Woodmancy on June 30, 1942 in Waynesville, Missouri. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He died in February 1990.
She was a member of the LDS Church and had served in a number of positions including a visiting teacher, an MIA teacher, a Sunday School teacher, and she had also, attended the temple regularly.
Alice had been employed by Brigham Apparel and by the Box Elder School District Lunch Program.
She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard (especially attending to her roses), visits from her family, and her trips to the temple.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter: E. Richard and Susan Woodmancy, Brigham; Gary Walter Woodmancy, Malad, Idaho; and Grace and Gary Godfrey, Clarkston; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Cliff Samsel, Brigham; one sister, Evelyn and Willard Smith, West Valley City. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Aitken and Adele Samsel.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12 noon in the 3rd/15th LDS Ward Chapel, 203 North 200 West, Brigham. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham, and on Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the ward chapel. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
