Alexander June Nash

Alexander June Nash, 91, McCammon, died Monday, November 7, at the Oneida County Hospital in Malad.
He was born June 5, 1882, in Independence, Kansas, to Alexander and Mary Woodruff Nash. The family moved to McCammon when he was a young boy, where they farmed and ranched. He received his education at the State School for the Deaf in Gooding.
He married Amanda Ann Shumway Feb. 19, 1946 in Pocatello. She died February 25, 1971. After their marriage, they moved to Ogden, Utah, where he worked for several years at the California Packing Co.
He returned to McCammon in 1958 and had lived there since. He enjoyed baseball and as a young man had played in the semi-pro league.
Survivors include three nieces and six grandnieces. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Funeral Services
Funeral services for Mr. Nash were held Friday, November 11, at the McCammon LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Bert Marley officiating.
Family prayer was offered by Bishop Lemar O. Hanson; prelude and postlude, Vera Hall; vocal trios, Carolun Harris, Janet Ketler and Susan Knapp; invocation, Vernon Harris, speaker, Bishop Reid Hanson; remarks Bishop Marley; vocal duet, Lew and Winky Williams.
Concluding rites were conducted at the Norton Cemetery with Lew Williams offering the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were cared for by the McCammon LDS 2nd Ward Relief Society, Marlean Thompson, president.
Casket bearers were: Glen Harris, Leo Bullock, Ted Owens, Lew Williams, Gary Gunter, E.M. Whitmery, Stephen Davis and Bill Gidley.
