Funeral Monday For Albert W. Bush

Funeral services for Albert W. Bush, 76, who died Monday morning (7 November 1952) at his home following an extended illness, were held at the Malad Presbyterian church Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Walden D. Toevs conducting.

Griff Jenkins gave a brief eulogy and an obituary of Mr. Bush and Rev. Toevs preached the funeral sermon and offered the prayers. Mrs. Ed. Scott sang two solos accompanied by Mrs. Farrel Jones; Professor S. M. Powell played the prelude and postlude.

Burial was in the Malad cemetery directed by the Malad Funeral Service.

The Masonic ritualistic ceremony under the direction of H. V. Peden, worshipful master of the Malad lodge, was conducted at the graveside.

Mr. Bush, a son of Robert Thomas and Amelia Brockway Bush, was born at Malad July 6, 1876. He was reared in Malad and attended the missionary school of the Presbyterian Church. He also attended Seattle Business College at Seattle, Washington for one year.

An Oneida County farmer and stockman, Mr. Bush also worked as a foreman for the Union Pacific Railroad when a young man.

On September 10, 1903, he married Rhoda Nelson at Logan. Mr. Bush was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Malad and a member of the Free and Accepted Order of Masons, Lodge No. 51.

Survivors include his widow, a son, Albert B. Bush, Malad; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one brother, Robert T. Bush, Malad.
