Albert Erramouspe

Albert Erramouspe

On  March 19, 2014, the world is a little  less  bright with the passing of Albert  Erramouspe, age 90 of    Blackfoot , Idaho.     Albert  was a  wonderful  man, husband, father, grandfather,  great-grandfather  and friend .

Albert was born April 9, 1923 to John and Jeanne Erramouspe in Malad , Idaho. He was the third of three boys, brother to John  Jr. and Mike. Albert graduated from Malad High School in 194 l. He then  attended  the University of Idaho, graduating in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Husbandry.

Albert ‘s  time in college was  interrupted by his  enlistment in the  Army   Air Corps   during   World    War II. Albert  flew  30  missions over  the  European  Theater, and  was  noted  for  his  accuracy   as   a   Bombardier, often  leading an  entire fleet of  B-24 Bombers  on  bombing  runs  of  strategic  military  targets. He reached  the rank  of First Lieutenant  and was   honorably   discharged in October of 1945 after receiving numerous commendations, including the Distinguished Flying Cross. Albert’s two brothers also served in W W I I  with John, Jr. being killed  in  action .

After  completing  his service and his education , Albert returned to Malad , where  he  met   a   young nurse, Betty Lou Wilde. The pair married on March 22, 1950. Upon Albert’s death the couple was just days short of their 64th  wedding anniversary.

In 1959 Albert and Betty moved to Blackfoot , Idaho where they raised their two children , Debra Erramouspe of Blackfoot,   Idaho  and John (Diana)   Erramouspe of  Pocatello,  Idaho.  Albert also   leaves behind eight grandchildren ; nine great grandchildren;  as  well  as his older brother Mike Errarnouspe of Malad , Idaho.

Albert worked at the INEL for 30 years as a health physicist.  He  was  an  avid  hunter and fisherman  in his younger years, but as his family liked to joke, his real  passion  was working cattle on  the family farm. In addition , Albert was a  faithful  supporter  of   any activity  in  which  his  family members  participated rarely missing   a   ball   game,   play or  other  event   in   which   a relative was  involved. Albert was  always available to help anyone  in   need. Albert could always be counted on to lend a hand to those who required his help, typically without request. All those who  knew Albert will miss  his  infectious  grin, quick laugh and personable nature.
