Albert C. Nielsen, age 63, died Wednesday, May 10, 1978 at the Oneida County Hospital following a long illness.
He was born Nov. 8, 1914 at Holbrook, a son of James P. and Olive Olson Nielsen.
He married Mary Facer Oct. 15, 1941 in Malad City. He was a farmer and was employed by the Oneida County Highway Dept. for 14 years. He was a member of the LDS Church and had served as a Scoutmaster.
Survivors include his widow of Malad, 6 sons and 2 daughters: Wallace Facer, Rex Nielsen, Wayne Nielsen, all Malad City; James Albert Nielsen, Las Vegas; Larry Nielsen, Idaho Falls; Donald Nielsen, Germany; Mrs. Bill (JoAnn) Red Cloud, Battle Mountain; Mrs. Gail (Louise) Hess, Plymouth; 14 grandchildren; one brother and two sisters; Harold Nielsen, Malta; Mrs. Farrell (Carolyn) Neal, Holbrook; Mrs. Norman (Verda) Wadsworth, Liberty.
Funeral Service
Funeral service was held Friday, May 12, at 11 a.m. at the Malad First LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Gordon Griffiths officiating.
At the Benson Funeral Home, Wayne Nielsen offered the family prayer and the program at the Chapel included: prelude and postlude music, Pauline Buehler; invocation, Charles Nielsen; vocal solo, “In the Garden of Tomorrow” Carole Archibald; obituary, Verda Wadsworth, speaker, Bishop Howard Neal; remarks, Frank Hill; vocal solo, “Beyond the Sunset” Foster Ipsen; benediction, Farrell Neal.
Concluding Rites
The concluding rites were held at the Malad City Cemetery, where Harold Nielsen gave the dedicatory prayer.
Flowers were taken care of by the Malad First Ward Relief Society, Karine Hill, president.
Honorary bearers, Roland Jones, John Nielsen, David Nielsen and Eldon Nielsen. Casket bearers, Jack Madsen, John Price, Dave Edwards, Joe Morgan, Lewis Jenkins and Christ Toland.
