MALAD- Afton Hadfield McDaniel, 83 of Malad, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 1995, in the Oneida County Nursing Home.

She was born March 6, 1912, in Smithfield, Utah, a daughter of William and Mary Hadfield. As a young girl the family moved to Malad, where she grew up and was educated, and was a graduate of Malad High School. Later she attended the University of Idaho, Southern Branch in Pocatello.

She moved to Los Angeles, Calif., in 1936, and while there she met and married Walter McDaniel on May 30, 1939.

They lived in Los Angeles for a few years spent a short time in Iowa, and moved to Malad in 1945, where they made their home. Mr. McDaniel passed away June 10, 1983.

She was an active member of the LDS Church, and had especially enjoyed the temple.

She is survived by one brother and wife, Ralph and Louaine Hadfield of Malad; and two sisters, Eva Hadfield and Edith Simmons, both of Malad; also surviving are several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 7 at non in the Malad Fourth Ward Chapel, Bishop Wendall Smith officiating. Friends may call at ht Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad this evening 6p.m. To 8 p.m. And on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at the Malad City Cemetery.
