Ada Walden Francis

FRANCIS, ADA WALDEN, July 25, 1897 – April 14, 1982

Ada Walden Francis, Malad, died Wednesday. She was born July 26, 1897 in Freeville, NY to William W. and Margaret J. Baker Walden. She married Frank W. Francis May 11, 1918 in Spencer, NY. They were residents of Courtland, NY for 50 years and upon retirement 13 years ago, they moved to Malad.

She was a member of the LDS Church and active in the Relief Society.

She is survived by her husband, Malad; two sons, Stanley E. Francis, Olympia, WA, and James F. Francis, Pough-Keepsie, NY; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Virginia) Kent, Malad; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Cecile B. Walden, Courtland, NY.

Funeral services were held Saturday at noon at the Benson Horsley Funeral Home in Malad with Counselor Joe Daniels officiating. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.

The family prayer was offered by David Kent. Prelude and postlude played by Iris Blaisdell; invocation, Bishop Hubert Gleed; Life Sketch, Elaine Castleton; vocals, Bishop Foster Ipsen, Louise Hughes; speaker, Bishop Darrell Swartz and benediction, Leon J. Castleton.

The dedicatory prayer was given by Bishop H. Clarence Kent. Flowers were under the direction of the Fourth Ward Relief Society, Pam Smith, president.

Casket bearers: David Kent, Robert Kent, Matthew Smith, Jeffrey Semrad, Del Christiansen and Marvin Pett.
