ROY – James D. Lykins, 65, passed away Friday, June 15, 2001, at McKay-Dee Hospital of complications related to Mycosis Fungoides.
He was born November 27, 1935, in Malad, Idaho, a son of James Valentine and Mary Jones Lykins. Jim married Anita Cline in 1952. On August 11, 1971, Jim married Cathy Cutler.
Jim worked at Hill AFB. Depot Supply Division for 36 years, retiring in 1988. He served his country with the U.S. Navy Reserves, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer.
He and Cathy traveled many places and had many adventures. They traveled in their motor- home spending several winters in Yuma, Arizona until Jim’s health forced them to stay home. He enjoyed golfing with the Ammo Thursday League. He loved having his grandchildren around him.
Surviving are his wife, Cathy, of Roy; children: Angela and Darrell Creel, Clearfield; Ron and Joan Lykins, Los Gatos, CA; Ken and Janet Lykins, Placerville, CA; Layne and Sonia Lykins, Aptos, CA; Paula Lykins, San Francisco, CA; and ten grandchildren, Chelsey, Danielle, Caylee, Michael, Sean, Brooke, Jordan, Lisa, Layne and Arianna.
Also surviving are two sisters Blanch Hull, Missoula, MT Maxey Clark, San Leandro, CA a sister-in-law, Zola Lykins, Washington Terrace; his first wife, Anita Cline House, and his extended family, Gordon and Robyn Cutler, Matt, Blake, Stephanie, Jenny and Eli Cutler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joseph Valentine Lykins, and a sister Louise Lykins.
Special thanks go out to Jean and Larry, Carrie and Clark Suzie and Dean, Gordon and Robyn, and many others for the support they have provided that enabled Jim to remain at home the entire time of his illness.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. John Zone and Dr. Robert Stewart of the University of Utah Medical Center; Dr. Jeff Call, Dr. Glen Biddulph and Dr. Randall Barnett for the devoted care to Jim over the many years of his illness. Thanks to the nurses at McKay-Dee Hospital 5th North and the nurses in the High Observation Unit for their compassion shown to the family during his many stays, and for the care received during his last hours. Thanks to Kim and Carrie for a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on.

The family would greatly appreciate any thoughts or memories you have of Jim. A basket will be provided for these at the mortuary.
Please join us in the celebration of Jim’s life on Tuesday, June 19th at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Scott Miller officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday Noon to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
You will be sadly missed and never forgotten and will forever be in our hearts and thoughts.
