Delores Andersen Rupp

POCATELLO — Delores Andersen Rupp, 82, of Pocatello and formerly of Arimo and Arbon, passed away Monday, June 18, 2001, at her home following an extended illness.
She was born March 25, 1919, in Downey, Idaho, a daughter of Charles Daniel and Katherine Scheibel Naef. She attended schools in Downey.
On September 18, 1942, she married A. Mark Andersen in Downey. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple.
They made their home in Arimo, and also on the ranch in Arbon, where they farmed for many years. In 1970, they moved to Pocatello. Mark passed away on April 4, 1989.
She married Donald C. Rupp on April 25, 1999, in Pocatello. They enjoyed two and a half years together.
She was active in the “Women’s Club” with friends from Arimo, Robin and Marsh Center, which she enjoyed very much. She taught many decorating classes in the area. She made hundreds of quilts for family members and friends. She was an excellent cook and many have partaken of her food and hospitality. Her door was always open and her fridge and freezer were always full to give freely to others.
She was a member of the LDS Church, where she had served as work director and also served as Relief Society and YWMIA. She also loved going to the senior center and association with her friends there. She was a member of the Old Time Fiddlers for many years, and also the Silver Chords.
Survivors include her husband, Donald C. Rupp, Pocatello; a son, Lyle M. (Shanna) Andersen, Newberg, Oregon; a daughter, Lucile R. Baker, Idaho Falls; daughter-in-law, LaRae (Doug) Cadwallader, Pocatello; stepdaughters, Karen Rupp, Pocatello, Nancy (Larry) Lish, McCammon, Donna Taylor, Pocatello; one brother, Ralph G. (Jennie) Naef, Salt Lake City; two sisters, Laurine Hancock, Downey, Idaho, Florence
(Dean) Campbell, McCammon; 11 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Dean and Reese, two grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 22, 20Q1, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pocatello LDS 41st Ward (corner of West Quinn and Hawthorne Road), with Bishop Robert Meredith officiating. Interment will be in the Arimo Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, June 21 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave., and Friday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
