Russell Pack Roe

Stone, Idaho – Russell Pack Roe, 77, lifetime resident of Stone, passed away Monday, April 27, 1998, in Malad. He was born September 3, 1920, in Stone, a son of William Ray and Lola Eliza Pack Roe. During World War II he served from 1942-1946 with the Seabees, a division of the Navy.
He married Lenna Jiammia Scott September 20, 1950, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Since then, he had farmed and ranched in Stone. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved to hunt and fish. Russell had been the watermaster for the Delmore Canal Company for over 50 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he had faithfully served in many capacities over the years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lenna, of Stone; five sons: Kelly (Sharon) Roe of West Point, Utah; Jeffrey (Kaylene) Roe of Rockford, Idaho; Dennis (Kathleen) Roe of Stone; Hal (Kim) Roe of Pleasant View, Utah; Eldon (Jody) Roe of Hyrum, Utah; one daughter: Lucinda (David ) Nimer of Stone; 25 grandchildren; one brother: Weston (Pauline) Roe of Orem, Utah; two sisters; Verdeen (Jim) Larson of Fillmore, Utah; Monette (Harold) Pratt of Syracuse, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; a son, Mitchell; a daughter, Jacalyn; and a grandson, Brad.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, 1998, at 1:00 p.m. in the Curlew LDS Chapel in Snowville. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. Malad, on Friday, May 1 from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday at the Church from 11:30 a.m. -12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Snowville Cemetery, with Military honors performed by the American Legion, Ernest W. Jones Post #65.
