Gary Ray Gibson

WEST HAVEN – Gary Ray Gibson, 67, passed away Monday, October 8, 2001, at McKay-Dee Hospital of Lymphoma.
He was born January 27, 1934, in Ogden, a son of William Raymond and Marelda Taylor Gibson.
Gary married Gladys Sorenson on November 14, 1952, in the Logan LDS Temple.
He graduated from Weber High School.
Gary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in the Young Men’s Presidency, Sunday School Superintendency and as Scoutmaster.
He was trained as an X-Ray technician. He worked at Hill Air Force Base in missile repair and traveled extensively for the government maintaining missile repair units.
Following his retirement, Gary enjoyed farming and the maintenance of farm equipment. He was a member of-the Wasatch Back Country Horsemen and a State board member of the Utah Back Country Horsemen. Gary loved his family and was proud of his grandchildren. He had many good friends.
Surviving are his sweetheart, Gladys, West Haven; three children, Blaine (Kris) Gibson, Kaysville; Jeff (Pam) Gibson, Malad, Idaho; Elise (Thom) Summers, Eden; 13 grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren and four grandchildren-in-law.
Gary is also survived by three brothers and one sister, Nolan (Pat) Gibson, Gold Canyon, Ariz.; Arlene Wilson, Roy; Ross (Marlene) Gibson, Preston, Idaho; Joe (Diane) Gibson, North Ogden.
He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Michelle (Randy) Spencer.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Wilson 2nd Ward Chapel, 2333 South 2700 West, with Bishop Gary Stimpson officiating.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the Ward Chapel 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
