SALT LAKE CITY – Darlene Rae Thorpe Power, born to this world October 20, 1931, to Lorin and Lyle Timpson Thorpe of Malad, ID. She journeyed with her family to Ogden, UT where she found her true love and married Robert C. Power. They gave birth to two sons, David Robert and Michael Ray. Her sons blessed her with six grandchildren, Ryan, Jeff, Lindsay, Uriah, Adam, and Crystal. Dar started her new journey in heaven June 30, 2001, at the tender age of 69.
Dar is survived by her mother Lyle Thorpe of Ogden; sisters Louise (Bob) Rothacker, Allen, PA; Sally (Robert) Bills, Ogden, UT; her brother Steve (Joyce) Thorpe, Roy, UT; husband, Robert C. Power; sons, David R. (Elaine) Power, SLC, UT; Michael R. Power, Walnut Creek, CA; grandchildren; great-granddaughter; and friends.
Dar lived every facet of her life with a strong and tenacious drive for perfection. Everyone who knew her was in awe of how effortlessly she made it appear.
Those who loved and knew her will gather in her memory on Thursday, July 5, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Winder 2nd Ward Chapel, 1361 East 4000 South, Salt Lake City. The family will meet friends from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church on Thursday.
