Emma Hawkins Turley

SALT LAKE CITY – Emma Hawkins Turley, 82, of Salt Lake City, formerly of Idaho Falls, died August 7, 1993, at a Salt Lake City hospital following a brief illness.

She was born May 9, 1911, at Samaria, to William Thomas and Mary Ann Bowen Hawkins.

She married Louis O. Turley in 1935. They were later divorced. She lived in Idaho Falls for 15 years and was employed as an administrative assistant by the Atomic Energy Commission, now Idaho National Engineering Laboratory.

Survivors include her children, Mrs. Jack (Karen) McMillan, Mrs. Ted (Sandra) Evans, Mrs. Roger (Lynn) Smith, Mrs. Patrick (Susan) Fleming, and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Harrison; a brother and sister, Percy Hawkins and Mrs. Glade (Thora) Linebaugh; 23 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, in Salt Lake City. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday for one hour before services at the mortuary. Burial will be in American Fork City Cemetery in American Fork, Utah.
