Orvil J. Tubbs

Holbrook….Orvil J. Tubbs, son of William Albert and Mary Katherine Johnson Tubbs was born December 3, 1921, in Holbrook, Idaho. He was the eighth of eleven children born to them. Orvil passed away April 13, 2011, doing what he loved, working the soil. His wife Rosealane was by his side. Orvil married Rosealane Godfrey of Garland, Utah in the Logan LDS Temple on June 10, 1949. He had been a farmer, horse trainer and dairy farmer most of his life. He had a great love of family, animals and especially his horses. Orvil loved working and being in the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. He was known for his whistling talent and he could be heard whistling throughout the community.. He was very generous with his time and always willing to help others. Orvil is survived by his wife, Rosealane; five children; Rodney (Gloria) Tubbs of Malad; Katherine (Jim) Lawson of Rexburg, ID.; Karen Sare of Rexburg, ID.; Ray (Marcia) Tubbs of Kalskag, AK.; Linda (Todd) Jensen of Fort Bridger, WY. also surviving are 29 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. 2 brothers; Earl Tubbs, Junior Tubbs. 2 sisters; Golda Misemheimer and Hazel Hansen. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Dean and Verl; 4 sisters; Ireta Moon, Letha Neal, Alta Tubbs and Ordella Byington. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011, at 12 noon in the Holbrook LDS Chapel. Friends may visit with the Tubbs family on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm at the Horsley Funeral Home 132 W. 300 N. in Malad and on Monday at the church in Holbrook prior to service from 10:30-11:45 am. Burial will follow in the Holbrook Cemetery.
