Marita Price Tripp, (1934)


MALAD – Marita Price Tripp, 64, of Malad and wife of Vern Tripp, passed away Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, in the Oneida County Hospital of sudden heart failure.
She was born March 26, 1934, in South Jordan, Utah, a daughter of Lesley William and Hazel Sheppick Price. She was reared and educated in Arimo, Idaho.
On December 27, 1952, she married Theron Vern Tripp in Arimo. The marriage was later solemnized on March 1, 1965, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
She had served in many church callings including Primary presidency, Cub Scout leader, nursery, visiting teacher, and as a stake missionary. Marita enjoyed reading and cooking.
She is survived by her husband, of Malad; five daughters, Betty Kim Lewis of Clearfield, Utah, Kristine (Devere) Hansen of Tremonton, Utah, Lesley (Curtis) Head of Pleasantview, Idaho, Brooke (Kerry) Jensen of Clinton, Utah and Amber (Tano) Cavasos of Sacramento, California; two sons, Dwight Tripp of Clearfield, Utah, and Jared (Rachel) Tripp of Riverdale, Utah; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; her father, of South Jordan, Utah; four brothers, Glen (Bonnie) Price of Pocatello, Ralph (Marilyn) Price of Raymond, Canada, Vern (Kathy) Price of Roy, Utah, Ken (Debbie) Price of Magna, Utah; three sisters, Alva (Larry) Brown of Holla-day, Utah, Mary (Scott) Dolder of Bountiful, Utah, and Glenda (Barry) Tripp of Wellsville, Utah. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 9, 1998, in the Malad LDS Stake Chapel, 400 N. 200 W., at noon. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, on Thursday, October 8, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Friday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Burial
