Michelle Marie Tovey passed away in her sleep on February 9th 2016. Michelle was born In Malad ID. on Oct. 2nd 1963 to (Black) Monte and Alice Thomas. Her early years were spent in McCammon and Downey Idaho until the family came back to the ranch in Malad. She graduated from Malad High in 1981 and spent a year attending Idaho State University. Shelly was a hard worker her whole life, she started working as a waitress and cook at the age of 13. She loved to cook great food for her friends and family. On May 14th 1988 she married Gerald Roger Tovey, together they had 3 sons, Brady (Candice), Blake, and Hunter. Michelle loved her children and family dearly. Not a day went by that she wasn’t in touch with everyone. Michelle was a big game player, she loved to play cards and games of any kind, from Facebook to a card game around the table. She loved family get-togethers; Shelly was the life of the party wherever she went. She also enjoyed spending time 4-wheeling and hunting in the mountains with her husband and kids. Michelle is survived by her husband and sons, mother and father. Mother-in-law, Geraldine (Gary) Roderick, sisters Dara Lee (Kyle) Hardman, Katrina (Brent) Grote, brothers-in-law Brooks(Monica) Tovey, Brandon Roderick, sister- in-law Hailey Roderick, nephews Kade , Kyler, Bryler, nieces Tayja, Piper, Journie and Anistyn. She was preceded in death by her father –in-law Gerald (Jug) Tovey. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13 at 3:00 p.m. in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
