Jonathan Edward Toone

Jonathan Edward Toone, 37, passed away unexpectedly near his home in Malad, Idaho. Jon was born in Lethbridge, Canada on February 7, 1981, to James and Cindy Toone. Jon was a spitfire from a young age–riding a two-wheeler bike by the time he was two, and becoming a leader for the Jamboree in Thunder Bay Ontario at age sixteen. A born leader with endless talents. He accomplished his venture which is equivalent to an Eagle Scout. At age 18, he joined the volunteer Magrath Fire Department. Still in high school, but was proud he could leave at any time in response to a fire alarm. He graduated Magrath High School in 1999 and served in the Ogden, Utah mission 2000-2002. He was so excited to serve in Utah and always wanted to live there as a little boy. There is where he met the love of his life, Abby. They were married five years later and were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 28, 2008. He quickly joined the United States Army. Jon held the rank of a specialist and was in support of the 19th special forces group in conducting unconventional warfare during the global war on terror. He lived by the mandate Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Happiness and Freedom. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and long-range shooting. Jon made a successful career in the oil fields throughout West Texas. He was always kind to the underdog and treated all he met like family. The love of his life and greatest possessions were his children. He was pursuing his dreams and working toward building a home on the Idaho summit. He was a physical and spiritual giant with a heart of gold. He was the most giving person–always helping anyone in need. Jon is survived by his wife, Abby (Huggins) Toone, and his children, Justin, Sarah, Dakota, and Naviah, of Malad, ID. His parents, Jim and Cindy Toone, of Magrath, Alberta, CAN.
