Pocatello….Fredrick Kevin Thompson, 55, of Pocatello, passed away on June 12 2009 at the Safe Haven Care Center in Shelley. He was born February 2, 1954 in Pocatello, a son of William Owen and Rita Bloxham Thompson. Kevin was educated at Lincoln and Syringa Elementary and Alameda Jr. High. Most of his life was spent in shelter care homes. He loved long walks, to read, and as a child, was his older brother’s constant companion. Kevin was gentle and sweet natured all of his life. He was always grateful for everything others did for him. His favorite times as a child and young man were the summer days spent on the farm in Downey with his granddad Fred Bloxham. Kevin is survived by 2 brothers and 2 sisters; Bonnie Thompson and Doug Thompson, both of Pocatello; Dennis (Patty) Thompson of Downey; Kathy (Jon) Green of Foresthill, California. 5 nieces and 5 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. We would like to extend a special thanks to Safe Haven Shelter Home in Shelley, especially to Teresa and Irene for their loving care and kindness to Kevin, and to Cindy C. for being a devoted case worker for many years. Graveside services will be held on Thursday June 18, 2009 at the Downey City Cemetery. Friends may visit with Kevin’s family on thursday at Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral Home 570 N. Meadowview Dr. in Arimo from 10:30-11:30 am.
