Dave Morgan Thomas

GARLAND – Dave Morgan Thomas, 79, died February 10, 1998, at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City.
He was born July 30, 1918, in Malad, Idaho, the son of David Richard and Ella Lilly Thomas.
He married Norma Burns, May 10, 1944, in Malad, Idaho. They were married for 53 years.
Dave lived in Malad, Idaho; Ogden, East Garland and Garland. He retired from Utah Power and Light after 38 years. During the 47 years he lived in Garland he served as Garland City Councilman, was a member and past president of the Garland Lions Club and Garland Volunteer Fire Department where he had served as chief.
He is survived by his wife, one son, Steven F. (Linda) Burns, Garland; one daughter, Shellee (Jerry) Estep, Tremonton; five grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life Shaun, Kyle and Cami Burns, Kellsey and Baillee Estep. Also surviving is one sister, Ada Lusk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Melvin; three sisters, Edith Dechambeau, Eliza Ward and Sara Palmer.
Funeral services will be held Sat. Feb. 14, 1998, 12 noon at the Garland Tabernacle, 140 W. Factory, with Bishop Phillip Lee, officiating. Friends may call Fri. Feb. 13, from 6-8 p.m. and Sat., from 10:15-11:30 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 No. 100 E. Tremonton.
