Margaret Williams Jones was born Jun 20, 1913 in Malad City, Idaho to John Benjamin Williams and Annie Matilda Campbell. She passed away May 24, 2017 in Malad City, Idaho from complications due to age. She was educated in Malad City, Idaho and a graduate of Malad High School. She married Albert Marvin Jones on June 27,1934 in the Logan LDS Temple. A son John Marvin Jones was born on June 5, 1939. He passed away at the age of 13 in 1952.

Margaret was an active member of the LDS church and served in many positions. She served as a Visiting Teaching Supervisor for 31 Years and for several years as the “Birthday Lady”.

Her hobbies included bird watching, water color painting, gardening, flower arranging and enjoying the beauties of nature. She loved to go fishing and would go when she had the opportunity. She went fishing on the Monday before she passed away. Margaret, enjoyed her families history and loved telling stories of her past. She had a remarkable memory and was able to compile her stories into a book about her life.

She worked with her husband Marvin on their farm. Upon his death she moved to Logan, Utah and worked as a cook and house mother for several fraternities, sororities and Peace Corp volunteers at Utah State University. She returned to Malad and worked for 23 Years as a Certified Weather Service Observer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin, son John Marvin and sister Norma (John) South. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the last of her generation from both the Williams and Jones families. She passed away one month prior to her 104th birthday. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 30 at 11 a.m. in the Malad LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 20 S. 100 W. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery.
