Florence Larsen Jones

Florence Larsen Jones, 92 of Malad, died Wednesday, May 27, 1992, in the Oneida County Nursing Home.
She was born October 13, 1899, in Brigham City, Utah, daughter of Peter and Abigail Bowden Larsen. She attended school in Brigham City, Utah. She married Frederick R. Jones June 23, 1920, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died June 15, 1968.
After their marriage, they lived in Ogden, Utah, for one year before coming to Malad, where she had since resided. She was an active member of the LDS Church, where she served as Primary teacher and Relief Society, visiting teacher for many years. For 17 years she was work and business leader in the Relief Society, and supervisor of many quilting projects. She was a God Tar Mother, member of the American War Mothers, and member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She also helped organize the Nexla Club of Malad.
She is survived by one daughter-in-law, and one granddaughter, Jean H. Jones and Dawn Jones Morrison, both of Anniston, Alabama; one stepson, George Jones of Ogden, Utah, and one stepdaughter, Mrs. John (Selma) Waters, Lemon Grove, California. She is also survived by 11 step-grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Noon in the Benson Horsley Funeral Home in Malad. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
