Hilda Leona Schwartz John

MALAD — Hilda Leona Schwartz John, 76, of Malad, passed away on Friday,
September 28. 2001, at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, of complications during surgery.

She was born June 11, 1925, in Daniels, Idaho, a daughter of William L. and Olga Serum Schwartz. She graduated from Malad High School.

On February 14, 1944, she married Sylvera B. John in Malad.

She was supervisor over housekeeping at the Oneida County Hospital for several years. Following her retirement, Hilda and Sylvera spent their winters in Arizona.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Hilda is survived by her husband, of Malad; three daughters, Delorise (Kennard) Hales of Tremonton, Utah, Marie (Kyle) Hughes of North Salt Lake City, Utah, Sylvia Kay Claiborne of Brunswick, Georgia; one son, S. Jay (Christina) John of Carlin, Nevada; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild; one sister, Donna (Chuck) Bloxham; one brother, Dale (Marsha) Schwartz. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Melvin and Ivan, two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be. held on Thursday, October 4, 2001, at noon in the Malad LDS Sixth Ward Chapel, 400 N. 200 W. Friends may call at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad Wednesday evening, October 3, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
