Charles W. Evans

October 9, 1884 – March 5, 1922

With very great sorrow the news of the death of Charles W. Evans was received by the people of Malad valley. For five minor children to be deprived of a father and mother in less than two weeks is a sorrow that few are called upon to bear, and has cast a gloom of sadness over the entire community.

Charles W. Evans died at Downey Sunday morning from influenza, after an illness of more than three weeks. About four weeks ago the entire family contracted influenza and on February 21, Mrs. Charles Evans passed away.

Charles W. Evans was the son of C. R. Evans of Malad and was born at Downey, October 9, 1884. He has resided at marsh Valley and Malad his entire life.

In the death of Charles W. Evans the community in which he lived lost a valuable citizen. He was a young man of ability and integrity. He was earnest and industrious. In his business dealings with his fellow men he had built an enviable reputation for honesty and uprightness.
