Charles S. Evans, Jr.

WEST BOUNTIFUL, UT – Charles S. Evans, Jr., 70, died unexpectedly August 11, 2002 at the university of Utah Hospital with his family at his side.

He was born March 8, 1932 in Malad, ID, the son of Charles S. and Geneva Jensen Evans. Shortly after his birth, his father died and his mother married Edward S. Evans.

Charles married his lifelong sweetheart, Ruby Harris on July 24, 1959. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

He graduated from Inkom High School and attended Idaho State University. He worked for 42 years for the Union Pacific Railroad in Pocatello, Ogden, UT and Salt Lake City, where he made many friends and lifelong memories. He served in the US Navy for four years, and had a great love of his country. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a member of the LDS Church and served as a High Priest. He was able to fulfill many of his lifelong dreams, including seeing the success of his children and that all his grandchildren were baptized.

Charlie is survived by his sweetheart, Ruby; three children, Debra L. Evans, Charles Evans (Robin); Dee E. Evans (Trish); seven grandchildren, Brandon, Miranda, Tiffany, C.J., Jason, Stephanie and Deeann; sisters, Lois Fenwick, Vera Briscoe, Florence Brown, Leda King and June Whitworth; brother, Stephen Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents, father in law and grandson, Joshua.

He will be loved forever and missed as long. We love you, Sweetheart, Dad and Grandpa.

Funeral services will be held August 16, 2002 at the West Bountiful First Ward Chapel. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Utah.
