Jeanne and Jug truly loved their grandchildren and were deeply influential in their lives. They worked hard to create opportunities for their family to be together, building traditions, and lasting memories. She passed down her love of the piano to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jeanne and Jug made a handsome couple and demonstrated what a loving, happy marriage looked like. They loved traveling and exploring the world together. They provided their children with a wonderful childhood full of love. They passed their love of travel on to their family, and together shared many unforgettable adventures. Carlsbad, California, quickly became a favorite destination for family trips to the beach, which remains a treasured tradition.
Jeanne began working at a young age in her Dad’s cafe, where she met the love of her life, a handsome marine Jug Jones. She later worked as a switchboard operator for the telephone company in Pocatello before transferring to Salt Lake City. After moving to Ogden, she taught piano and then went to work for GoldenWest Credit Union as a loan officer. Together, Jeanne and Jug founded the Preview Real Estate Magazine in Southern Utah, Ogden, and Salt Lake City. She also spent many years volunteering as a member of the Weber Chamber of Commerce Spikers organization in support of her community.
Jeanne and Jug were devoted partners and best friends who lived a full and meaningful life together. When Jug became ill, Jeanne committed her life to his care and showed us a beautiful example of dedication and love.
Jeanne was a loyal friend who was loved by many. Her vibrant, fun personality was always accompanied by grace, kindness, and class. Her enthusiasm and generosity created a community of love that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Music was one of Jeanne’s greatest gifts. She received a music scholarship to Utah State University and was a beautiful vocalist and pianist. Jeanne shared her love of music by teaching piano lessons to hundreds of children. She also enjoyed playing the grand piano in the lobby of McKay-Dee Hospital, bringing comfort and peace to many visitors.
Jeanne was an avid reader and had a love of learning including taking many quilting and art classes to work on her talent. She used those talents to make beautiful creations and always had a special eye for colors. She was a strong, spunky woman who became known to many as our purple-loving grandma. She was a member of and had a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
