Ashley Nicole Floyd
January 4, 1982 – June 8, 2026
After a short but courageous battle with terminal cancer, Ashley Nicole Floyd passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, at the age of 44, surrounded by the love of her family. Though her time with us was far too short, her impact on the lives of those who knew and loved her will be felt forever.
Ashley was born on January 4, 1982, at the Naval Base in Charleston, South Carolina, to Tonya Anne Christoffersen and Robert Eric Floyd. South Carolina was always home in her heart, and she carried that connection with her wherever she went. At the age of eight, she moved with her family to Holbrook, Idaho, and at age 15 she moved to Malad, Idaho, where she remained until graduating from Malad High School. She traveled and lived in Maryland, South Carolina, and Texas before returning to Idaho to attend Idaho State University. She spent many years in Pocatello, Idaho, where she attended Idaho State University on and off and worked at a local daycare center, caring for and nurturing children she loved so dearly. She later made her home in Stansbury Park, Utah, in 2024.
Ashley had a special gift when it came to children. Although she never had children of her own, she helped raise and care for many throughout her life. She had a nurturing heart and a natural ability to make children feel safe, loved, and understood. The impact she made on their lives will continue long after her passing.
One of Ashley’s greatest talents was American Sign Language. Her ability to communicate through ASL was remarkable and brought connection, understanding, and joy to many. Even during her illness, when speaking became difficult, ASL remained her first instinct and preferred way to communicate—a reflection of both her strength and the importance it held in her life.
Ashley loved music, especially country music. She often found comfort in retreating to her room, putting on her favorite songs, and simply getting lost in the music as a way to recharge and find peace. She also had a deep love for animals, especially dogs and cats, and treasured the companionship they brought to her life. One of her favorite recent memories was spending a summer in South Carolina with her cousin Kim, surrounded by family and loved ones she held close to her heart. After this trip, she often spoke of returning one day and had even created a five-year plan to move back, as South Carolina was where she felt most alive and most like herself.
Ashley will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, quiet strength, resilience, and the love she shared with those around her. She faced life’s challenges with courage and grace and continued to think of others even during her most difficult days.
She is survived by her parents, Con and Tonya (Paul) Christoffersen of Stansbury Park, Utah, and Robert Eric Floyd of Eastover, South Carolina; her siblings, Megan (Brady) Parsons of Tooele, Utah; Zane Stokes of Tooele, Utah; Damien (Nisi) Christoffersen of Vernal, Utah; Lisa (Shane) Willie of Holbrook, Idaho; Heath (Brittney) Barber of Las Vegas, Nevada; Chad Barber of Malad, Idaho; Nick Barber of Ogden, Utah; AJ (Molly) Floyd of Columbia, South Carolina; Nikita Floyd of Columbia, South Carolina; Danielle Floyd of Columbia, South Carolina; Jennifer Richardson of Lugoff, South Carolina; and Christel (Gregory) Coleman of Missoula, Montana.
Ashley is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews whom she cherished dearly, as well as her paternal grandparents, Berry and Nancy Floyd of Eastover, South Carolina.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and is finally at peace. Ashley was welcomed into heaven by many beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who had gone before her.
Ashley’s life was a testament to love, resilience, compassion, and service to others. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched, the children she helped raise, the family she loved, and the friends fortunate enough to know her.
Ashley will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17th at 1p.m. at Horsley Funeral. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 12-1.
