Norabelle Roseanna Drury, Nora to her friends, passed away on Thursday May 28, 2026 after a short illness. Nora was born on November 1, 1931, in Anapee Town – Algoma, Wisconsin. Daughter of Simon and Esther Franda. After the start of WWII, the family moved to Beloit, Wisconsin to work in the factories that produce supplies for the war.

Nora attended high school in Beloit. She learned to play the bass violin and played in both the high school band and local swing band. She decided to see the world and became a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines. She then became an administrative assistant for the investment house, John Nuveen.

She married William N Drury III on May 18, 1957, in Chicago and had one child. After her son started school, Nora took college courses and earn a Bachelor of Arts in early childhood education and a Master of Arts in special education. For the next 36 years, Nora taught school in Chicago and then Virginia. She spent much of her time in special education.

In 2025, Nora moved to Idaho to be with her son and his family.

She is survived by her child: William Drury IV of Malad, Idaho. Grandson: William Drury V of Burley, Idaho. Her sister Carole Franda of Santa Fa, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, her sister Mary Jane Johnson, her brother Marcus Franda, and grandson Paul Drury.

Funeral Services will be held in Henderson, Kentucky.
