Lana Jay Dahlke, (1950)

Lana Jay Dahlke, 76, longtime Marsh Valley resident, passed away from pneumonia complications on Sunday May 3, 2026. Lana was born on April 26, 1950, in Pocatello, Idaho, a daughter of James and Leita Hagler. She attended Inkom elementary and then graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1968. During her youth, Lana enjoyed archery, bowling, camping, skiing, and hunting with her family. Lana was very athletic. She won the most push ups for the 8th grade girls. She also loved playing church softball and was on the high school drill team. One year she was voted homecoming queen. She attended Idaho State University for two and a half years where she was a member of the songleading team. During her time there, she had the opportunity to travel to some memorable events, including a Chicago Bears v.s. San Francisco 49ers football game, which was in Candlestick Park.

Lana married Bill Dahlke in January of 1971. They lived in Inkom and had three children together, then later divorced. She enjoyed hunting, team roping, skiing, bowling, and spending time with her kids and grandchildren, especially at their sporting events. She loved hosting Christmas breakfasts at her house and welcoming many to her home for the 4th of July parade. She loved shopping for birthdays and Christmas and was the ultimate gift giver. Lana enjoyed spending Labor Day weekends in Diamond Creek. She was also able to take a few vacations: including a ladies trip to Nashville, a trip to the Oregon coast, a trip to Hawaii to visit her sister Dianna, several trips to big team roping events where she was successful at competing and winning some money, a few little getaways to Jackpot, and an Alaskan cruise. Lana’s first jobs included her cooking at a local hometown restaurant and working at the phone company. She then worked at Intermountain Gas Company and retired there as an Engineering Technician after 42 ½ years. She made some lifelong memories and friends there.

She is survived by her three children: Tyler Dahlke of Chubbuck, Idaho, Tucker (Richelle) Dahlke of Inkom, Idaho, and Tessa (Rance) Howell of McCammon, Idaho, and 7 grandchildren. 1 sister:Dianna Sterner of Inkom. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Leita Hagler.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday May 12, 2026, at 12 noon in the Rapid Creek LDS church at 801 N. Rapid Creek Rd. Inkom, Idaho. A viewing will be held on Monday May 11, 2026 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the same location. There will also be a viewing prior to the funeral on Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
