Gary Leon Duncan, Sr.

POCATELLO – Gary Leon Duncan, Sr., of Pocatello, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at a local hospital. He was born on April 5, 1935 in Pocatello, ID, the only son of Mearl and Phoebe Duncan. He was raised in Pocatello and Malad, where he enjoyed the outdoors and hunting pheasants.

He married Myrna J. Martin in Idaho Falls in 1953. Together they had five children, Shannon, Marla, Wendy, Kym and Gary, Jr.

Gary drove truck for a living and worked for Keebler for 22 years, retiring in 1990. After retirement, Gary and his wife enjoyed spending time in Apache Junction where they enjoyed golfing in the winter time. They also became acquainted with many good friends in Apache Junction. One of his favorite days of the year was the Christmas party in August.

Gary was a good father, grandfather and husband who loved being with his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Marla (John) Moreland of Rexburg, ID, Wendy (Ron) Hellstern of Logan, UT, Kym (Bill) Branson of Pocatello; son, Gary (Cheryl) Duncan, Jr., of Pocatello; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna, daughter, Shannon Duncan, his parents, and granddaughter, Mandy Kaye Duncan.

There will be a memorial open house for friends at his home in Pocatello on November 28, 2008. Arrangements are under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home.
