Grace Jane Stone
Grace Jane Thomas Stone passed away peacefully at home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on December 23, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born November 16, 1940, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Alvin John Thomas and Grace Burton Bluemel. Grace grew up with her brothers, Cyril Alvin Thomas and Raymond Burton Thomas, on the family farm in Samaria, Idaho.

Grace was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married her eternal companion, David Leonard Stone, on July 1, 1960, in the Logan Utah Temple. Together they raised three children in Stockton, California, and Cedar City, Utah. Grace’s life was defined by unwavering faith and deep love for her family, blessing the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many dear friends.

Grace earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Brigham Young University and later completed a nursing degree. She worked for many years at Valley View Medical Center, and as a home-health nurse in Cedar City, caring for others with compassion and dedication. Known lovingly as “Grandma Grace,” she delighted in taking her posterity to the SUSC/SUU campus across the street from her home. She enjoyed reading, quilting, and square dancing with the Hey Cedars.

She is survived by her children, Susan (Richard) Boardman of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Camille (Derek) Bohne of Midvale, Utah, and David (Lynette) Stone of Liberty Lake, Washington; along with twelve grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, David; her parents; and her brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Cedar Valley Funeral Home, 2086 N. Main Street, Cedar City, Utah. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Care to Stay Home of Liberty Lake, Aspen Home Health and Hospice, and Clover Caregivers of Idaho Falls, for their compassionate care.
