Lon W. Corbridge

Lon W. Corbridge, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Malad, Idaho, Friday, March 28, 2008. He was born December 6, 1926 in Bountiful, Utah to Lawrence George and Mary Emily Tuttle Corbridge. He married Ilene Griffiths June 5, 1947 in the Logan Temple. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year.

After graduating from Malad High School in 1945, he entered the U.S. Army as World War II was ending. He and his wife served in the Western Canadian Mission. Upon returning home, he became a partner in the ranching business with Corbridge Brothers. He loved his work, his family, and serving in the LDS Church. He was the Malad Stake Patriarch for the past 25 years. He influenced many people in several calling, including Bishop of the Malad 3rd Ward for 10 years, High Councilor and several years as Sunday School teacher. He served on the Oneida County School Board, Federal Land Bank Board, Malad Valley Irrigation Company and Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife, Ilene Corbridge and seven daughters; Janet (Andrew) Skinner, Linidon, Utah; Karen (Martin) Hinckley, Perry, Utah; Debbie Corbridge, Salt Lake City, Utah; Cherie (Phillip) Lee, Garland, Utah; Annette (Tad) Morley, Draper, Utah; Kathy (David) Walton, Vernal, Utah; Mary (Mitch) Simkins, Draper, Utah; 29 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Eldon Corbridge, Malad, Idaho; and sisters, Mollie Hyer, Las Vegas, Nevada; Lauraine Allen, Centerville, Utah; and Lucille Skanchy, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Malad 3rd Ward Church.
