Ella M. Christoffersen

Ella M. Christoffersen, 85 year old Burley and former Pocatello resident died Saturday, June 8, 1996, at the Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley. She was born on September 2, 1910, at Plymouth, Utah, the daughter of George Ulmer and Sylvia Emma Clark Briggs. She was the fourth of ten children. Ella spent her early years in the Pocatello valley where she received her education. She married Walter Archibald on November 21, 1932. They worked on a farm in Malad. During this time they had a daughter Darlene and one son Oakley. In August of 1941, they moved to Pocatello where Walter went to work for Union Pacific Railroad. Walter preceded her in death on July 5, 1955. She married Rex Christoffersen on October 6, 1957, at Elko, Nevada. She and Rex famed in Daniels during the summers and spent the winters in Pocatello. Rex preceded her in death on January 26, 1988. She lived in Pocatello until April of 1995 when she moved to Burley to live with her daughter Darlene Gentry. Her hobbies included hunting, fishing, vacationing in Arizona and her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Gentry of Burley; two brothers, Ray Briggs of Burley, and Howard Briggs and his wife Dorothy of Malad; one sister, Beatrice Clark and her husband Dell of Malad; a daughter-in-law Thella Archibald of Pocatello; eight grandchildren; six step grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and twelve step great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son Oakely, her parents, three brothers, and two sisters

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 12, 1996 at Pocatello. Burial was in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Pocatello.
