Ruth Lyn Christiansen, age 66, passed away peacefully on march 18, 2008, due to Alzheimer’s disease. She was born July 17, 1941 in Malad City, Idaho, a daughter of Orion and Ruth Evans Christiansen.

She is survived by her sisters, Lois Jensen of Ogden, Utah, Sherry Criddle of Kaysville, Utah, and Kaye Peterson of Boise, Idaho; anda brother Dee Christiansen of Liberty Lake, Washington. She had two sons, Rock E. Phillips of Grace, Idaho and Brad G. Phillips of Spokane, Washington, and a daughter, Lauri L. Hubbard of Spokane Valley, Washington. Lyn is also survived by grandchildren, Ashley, Lori and Gentry Phillips, Kirsten Hubbard and Ryan Palting.

Lyn grew up in Downey, Idaho. Lyn won the Agnes Just Reid creative writing scholarship for 1970-80 at Idaho State University. She then went on to graduate from the University of Washington with a bachelor of arts degree in English.

Lyn worked in the insurance field for many years and was a licensed life and health agent.

Lyn was a wonderful sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, co-worker and friend. She leaves behind a family who will cherish the time they spent with her.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in the Downey LDS Ward Chapel at noon.
