Genesee Tripp Christensen

Marsh Valley – Genesee Tripp Christensen, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, of Downey, passed away 11 July, 2014 on her 93rd birthday.

She was born July 11, 1921 in Richmond, Utah, a daughter to Leslie Tripp and Martha Christina Halverson Tripp. She grew up in the Marsh Valley area.

Genesee married Golden Calvert Christensen February 14, 1942, and the marriage was solemnized August 31 of the same year in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She could always be found working with and helping her husband. As a couple they spent most of their lives together, farming in Marsh Valley. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, holding multiple positions, where ever she was called to serve.

She is survived by two sons and four daughters and their spouses, Calvert T and Josie Christensen of Nauvoo, Illinois; Klain T and Elaine Christensen of Robin, Idaho; Karren and Denny McLean of Hamilton, Montana; Nancy and (Tate) Clayton Harris of Robin, Idaho; Carla and Mark Crawley of Chubbuck, Idaho; Leann and Allan Seaman of Medical Lake, Washington. 29 grandchildren, 85 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

She was preceeded in death by her husband; Golden, her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister, 1 grandchild; Jason Ricks, and 1 great-grandchild; Steven Cox.

Funeral services will be held on Friday July 18, 2014 at 12 noon in the Arimo LDS Stake Chapel. Friends may visit with her family on Friday prior to services at the church from 10:00-11:45 am.
