
Joseph Clair Olsen
June 20, 1944 – May 17, 2025
Joesph Clair Olsen, a loving brother, husband, father and grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully in his home in Weston, Idaho, on May 17, 2025. He was born in Paradise, Utah on June 20, 1944, to Frank to Frank Price Olsen and Alice Louise Newbrand Olsen, the third of seven sons.
Clair grew up in Paradise, working on the family farm. He graduated from South Cache High School in 1962.
Clair married Karen Hall Lindley on March 15, 1963, in Logan Temple. Shortly, after that they moved to Fort Hood, Texas, where Clair Served in the army as a combat engineer for two years. They then moved to Salt Lake City, where he went to school in diesel mechanics. Clair was a jack of all trades from diesel, automotive, farming, and heavy equipment mechanics, also dabbling in home construction, and retired as an owner operator in the oil fields.
Clair had a love for the outdoors, specifically hunting, fishing, and gold prospecting, which he loved to share with his family and friends.
Clair and Karen settled down back to Paradise, where they built their family home to raise their children and grow old together.
Clair is survived by his loving wife, Karen and their children. Shelesa, Clain (Nicole), Kelley (Julene), Frank and nine grandsons and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Dallas Franklin (Carlis), and Phillip Kraig (Teresa). He was proceeded in death by his parents and brothers Dale Brent, Curtis Lynn, Randall Elliot and Gideon Evan.
There will be a viewing held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Paradise 4th Ward Church House, 155 East 9400 South, Paradise, Utah from 10:00-11:30 A.M. The graveside service will be at the Paradise Cemetery at 12 noon.
