Merrilee Denison Marble Obituary
Merrilee Denison Marble of Orem, Utah passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025 after a long battle with dementia. Prior to her passing she was able to have all of her beloved children and her sister and many grandchildren and great grand children and many life long friends visit with her before and during her passing. Family members were with her and she did not pass away alone. She will be greatly missed.
Merrilee Denison was born on April 1, 1949 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Fred Heber Denison and Helen Whiting. Yes she was an April Fool’s baby and she loved it! She had a love filled childhood in Idaho. Her parents had prayed so long and hard for her and they adored her. She often commented that her childhood was like a fairy tale. She loved her parents and siblings with all her heart and was always serving them. She made it a point to make her Mother’s bed for her everyday as a way of showing her gratitude for everything she did for Merrilee.
She married Norman Delno Marble on October 5, 1967 in the Logan Utah Temple. Very soon after their marriage Norman was drafted into the Army and was sent to Germany while Merrilee stayed in Pocatello, Idaho until she eventually joined him there. It was quite the culture shock for a young 18 year old girl from a small town in Idaho. But in great Merrilee fashion, she made the best of the situation and soon had friends all over Germany.
Merrilee was the ultimate homemaker and mother. She loved doing things with her hands. Thousands of hours devoted to beautiful cross stitching, playing piano, crocheting, quilting and beautifying the world around her. She was also a very accomplished seamstress. She sewed almost all the clothing for her family. She was a doting and proud mother of 4 sons and 2 daughters. The hardest thing she ever had to live through was the deaths of her two sons. But she was able to get through it because of her knowledge of our Heavenly Father’s Plan of Salvation.
She had a way of loving everyone she met. She showed that love through her many acts of service. She was always the first one to offer a hug or an uplifting word. When you visited her home you were always welcomed with a hug and a big smile. When you left her home you felt loved and seen. She truly loved just like our Savior does.
Merrilee loved to laugh, which is fitting for her April Fool’s birthday. She had the best laugh and the biggest smile.
Merrilee was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings in the church which she performed with joy and excitement, including Relief Society President, Compassionate Service Leader, Temple worker and her favorite Primary Chorister. She and Norman were even able to serve a Mission in Nauvoo, Illinois from 2006 to 2008. She served in the sewing center where she made period dresses and beautiful hats for the female missionaries. While there she and Norman performed in the Rendezvous play as Agatha and George. She was quite proud of her acting chops!
Merrilee is preceded in death by her adoring parents, Fred Heber Denison and Helen Whiting, her Husband Norman Delno Marble, oldest son Lloyd Norman Marble, youngest son Michael Todd Marble and a grandson Casey Lloyd Marble. She is survived by her loving older sister Deanna Bean, older brother Fred (Linda) Denison, son Stephen (Yaniri) Marble, daughter Suzette (Kevin) Hogge, son Jared (Sara) Marble, daughter Mailee (Jayme) Woodouse, daughters in law Jennifer Milam and Faelynn Marble as well as 28 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
