
David Leroy Potter

David Leroy Potter, 86, passed away on Thursday. March 6, 2025. He was born in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho on October 2, 1938, to Fred and Fern Potter.
David graduated from Marsh Valley High in 1957. On July 6, 1961, he married Dorothy Payne in Lewiston, Utah. In 1962 they moved to Idaho Falls to run the family potato farm and began their family. They resided in Idaho Falls until 1976, at which time they moved to Lava Hot Springs and ran the family farm together until Dorothys passing in 2021.
David enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, working cows and in his younger years team roping.
David is survived by his 5 children, Lynn (Pam) of Lava Hot Springs, Doug of Lava Hot Springs, Darren (Nancy) Spring Creek, Nevada, Dan (Tami) of Spring Creek, Nevada, Debbie of Lava Hot Springs, 11 grandchildren, Kimberly, Jason, Tim, Jakob, Chanee, Derek, Dusty, Damion, Kayla, Maggie, Calien, 9 great-grandchildren, Dakota, Marley, Addison, Walker, Zaiden, Esmeralda, Deklan, Dax and Jason. 2 brothers, Wayne (Nicki) of Lava Hot Springs, Marvie (Eva) of Idaho Falls.
David is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents Fred and Fern, 2 sisters Carol Ann and Marilyn and 1 grandson Jason.
A graveside service will be held Friday, March 14 at 12:30 P.M. at the Lava Cemetery with a viewing prior at the Marsh Valley Funeral Home from 11-12.
