Preston – Marjorie Jones Hyde, 76, former Downey resident, died Saturday, April 11, 1992.
She was born April 13, 1915, in Malad, Idaho, the daughter of John Thomas and Margaret Elizabeth Caldwell Jones. She married Keith William Hyde Aug. 25, 1934, in Pocatello; the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple. He passed away Jan. 25, 1988.
She was active in the LDS Church and served as a Primary president, in the stake Relief Society, and as a visiting teacher. She loved handwork, gardening, her children and grandchildren. She was a cook in a restaurant earlier in her life.
She was survived by three daughters and their spouses, Maxine and Larry Nielsen, Hansen, Idaho, Josie and Sam Thomas, Twin Falls, Idaho, and Jerry and Clair Austin, Weston, Idaho, 12 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 14, at noon in the Downey LDS Ward Chapel, 525 E. First North, with Bishop Gary Barnes conducting. Friends may call Webb Funeral Home this evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and at the ward chapel in Downey on Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Downey Cemetery.
