Alice Volborg Jacobson Hubbard

Alice Volborg Jacobson Hubbard, 96, of Holbrook, Idaho passed away Monday, January 5, 2009 at the home of her daughter-in-law in Preston, Idaho.

Alice was born May 12, 1912 at Elwood, Utah the fourth child of twelve children to Alma G. Jacobson and Alice Volborg Erickson.

She married Myrle Hubbard September 23, 1931 in the Logan Temple. Myrle passed away November 26, 1977.

Alice lived in Holbrook with her husband on their farm for many years and later moved into Malad City for her remaining years.

Alice was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had served in many positions and was a faithful visiting teacher, always willing to give service. She enjoyed quilting and made many quilts and shared them with others. She was an excellent cook and no one left her home hungry.

She is survived by her sons, Lloyd Hubbard (Delpha) of Malad; Lowell of Meridian; daughter-in-law Saundra Hubbard of Preston; son-in-law Don Dewey; sister, Elva Spencer; and brothers, Tad Jacobson and Don Jacobson; 17 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Elbert Hubbard; daughter, Helen Dewey; grandson, Steve Dewey; great-granddaughter, Lindsey Thomas and 8 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 12 noon in the Holbrook LDS Chapel with Branch President Bill Hubbard conducting. Friends may call on Friday at the Holbrook Chapel 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Holbrook Cemetery
