Family History of David R. Evans 

Born, Fillmore, Missouri 23 Aug. 1853.

Parents landed in Orleans, then up the Mississippi River, moved to Fillmore, Missouri in 1850, then moved to Nebraska City in 1856, then moved to Logan, Utah in 1863. 

David R. Freighted to Silver City, Montana with Morgan Evans (husband of first cousin) in 1864. Came through Malad on that trip. Lived with Morgan Evans that winter of 1864 at Brigham, Utah and was working for him. Came back in August and lived in Logan with his folks for five years in all. Made 4 trips to Montana, one each summer. Moved to Malad in 1868. Malad had been settled 4 years before they came. They lived across the street from where Aunt May Jane Thomas lives. His father took up a piece of land and started farming. He farmed for two summers then worked on the railroad for six weeks, then hauled hay for a summer for B. F. White. In 1873 went to Sandy ,Utah to work in the mines. In 1874-75 went to Montana with his own team of horses, freighting. Freighted from 1875-1805 from Malad and Blackfoot, hauled merchandise. Married in April 1880 to Charlotte Parry, daughter of William Parry. A daughter, Maude was born Sept. 19, 1880 and died Oct. 29, 1898, probably caused by hemorrhage of the brain. Dave was born Jan. 8, 1886. Mary was born May 17, 1887 and died May 20 1888 from measles. Bill was born October 15, 1891.  

Charlotte P. Evans, his wife, ran a confectionery, starting in 1893. Started a cafe in 1896 or 1897.

David R. Evans, died at his home on North main Street, Malad City, Idaho on 20 April 1943 incident to age. 

History of Charlotte Parry Evans- 

Born 21 Dec., 1854, in Cardiff, Wales and came to America in 1861. Settled in Brigham City, Utah, then lived with her sister (Mary Ann) in Wellsville, Utah for 4 or 5 years, then came to Malad in 1869. Her folks had moved to Malad in 1865 or 66. Lived with her folks until she married David R. Evans in 1880. Died of cancer, June 16, 1924. Buried in the Malad Cemetery with her daughter.
