Marintha Pearl Ward Thomas was born Aug. 14, 1892, at Woodruff, Idaho, the thirteenth of 14 children.  I grew up on a farm with my parents George and Eunice Nicholas Ward.  I had a well provided and happy home, learning to help with chores and housework. 

I went to school at Woodruff and later in Malad where I cared for my brother, a niece  my mother raised, and two nephews.  I completed one year of high school. 

I was married to Henry E. Thomas November 22, 1911 at Malad.  We built and moved into our home in October 1912.  Henry worked in the First National Bank for 48 years.  We were active in the LDS Church., I worked in the Primary, YWMIA, and Relief Society, Henry worked in the Sunday School, served in the Malad First Ward Bishopric and on the Malad Stake High Council.  He served on the Malad school board for 33 years. 

We had 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls.  They are all university graduates. 

Henry Ward was born January 12, 1913.  He is a teacher at Malad High School.  He married Helen Grace Roghaar July 19, 1939.  They have 3 children- Don Ward born October 2, 1941; Kathleen born May 6, 1945; and Tim Roghaar born March 12, 1949.  Don married Clara Dahle June 11, 1965.  They have a daughter, Faun, born August 3, 1967.  Kathleen married James Bott McDonald December 28, 1966.  Tim is a student at Utah State University.  Burt Lester was born February 27, 1918.  He is president of Winn-Dixie Stores in Jacksonville, Florida.  He married Barbara Palmer April 30, 1941. They have 3 sons- Burt L. II, born September 9, 1942; Val P. born January 1, 1947, and Scott C. born January 10, 1953;  Burt L. II was married May 25, 1968 to Mary Durand. 

Shelba was born February 6, 1921.  She is a teacher in Idaho Falls High School. 

Rollin was born April 4, 1927.  He is manager of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation office at Soda Spr;ings.  He married Helen Mary Mason March 16, 1950.  They have 3 sons- Ross Rollin born August 27, 1951; Reed Mason born November 13, 1952f; Chris Ward born January 31, 196?. 

Benjamin L. was born August 4, 1928.  He is a dentist in Salt Lake City.  He married Kathryn Roskelley August 20, 1951.  They have 2 daughters- Diane born May 3, 1954; and Marcie born June 24, 1957.   

Janice Rose was born February 18, 1938.  She married Robert E. Colson September 18, 1959.  They have 3 children- Robert Ward born September 25, 1961; Thomas Everett born July 21, 1964; and Sue Ellen born April 9, 1967.  Her husband is city engineer for Blackfoot, Idaho.
