Teri Louise Boyer Peterson
September 4, 1942 – September 8, 2024

Pocatello, Idaho

Teri Louise Boyer Peterson, 82, of Pocatello, Idaho passed away quietly at home on September 8th, 2024. She passed away on her and Curtis’s 59th wedding anniversary, just to make sure Curtis would always remember her.

Teri was the daughter of Carl and Lola and sister to David. She was excited to begin her mortal journey, as she arrived premature on September 4th, 1942, in Rock Springs, Wyoming. She and her family lived in Reliance, Wyoming while her father worked in the coal mines for the Union Pacific Railroad. She was 9 years of age, when they moved to Tabor, Iowa. She discovered she was meant to be a farm girl during her younger years, as they lived on the family farm.

She attended BYU, where she earned a bachelor’s degree to become a Registered Nurse. There she met her future husband, O. Curtis Peterson. They were married 5 months later on September 8, 1965, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Teri continued to work and put Curtis through school. When Curtis graduated, they moved to Burley, Idaho to teach Seminary and had two children there. In 1970, they moved to Marsh Valley, living in both Virginia and Arimo, for the next 30 years. They had four more children. Teri kept busy raising the 6 children and working part-time as a nurse in the Downey Hospital, and later full-time at the Health Department in Pocatello. Mom was the wind beneath her husband’s wings as she supported him in his job and church callings. Mom was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She fulfilled many church callings and spent many hours serving the local community with her nursing skills. Mom was such a hard worker, and she made sure that all of her children knew how to work as well. Mom was an avid supporter of the daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was proud of her heritage. Mom loved quilting, gardening, canning, camping and other outdoor activities. Teri was a great hostess and always made sure that visitors had their favorite foods available, especially the grandkids!

Teri is survived by her husband O. Curtis Peterson and her six children, Selena (Jon) Bartholomew of Weston, ID., Wade (Traci) Peterson of Anna, TX., Jason (Janette) Peterson of Wichita, KS., Dawn Peterson of Idaho Falls, ID., Trina (Phillip) Bury of Gilbert, AZ., and Julie (Ryan) Angus of Saratoga Springs, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Lola Boyer, her father and mother-in-law Shirley and Virgie Peterson, and her two granddaughters, Haley Nicole Bury and Ali Joy Peterson. She is the proud matriarch of 6 children, 20 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
