Marie Daniels
Mae Marie Millward Tripp Daniels died June 20, 1993, at Boise, Idaho after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mae Marie was born at Malad City, Idaho on June 1, 1923, to Albert H. and Hazel Reas Millward. She lived in Bancroft, Idaho until she was 9 years old, and then her family moved to Cherry Creek. Marie graduated from Malad High School, and then obtained nurse’s training at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. She also attended classes at the University of Utah.
Marie married Max S. Tripp August 2, 1942. He was killed in action May 27, 1944. She returned home to Malad, Idaho to raise her two little girls.
On March 10, 1949, she married D. Max Daniels at Ogden, Utah. Max and Marie moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1950, and later moved to Boise in 1966.
Marie worked in the Primary and Young Women’s organizations of the LDS Church, serving as organist, teacher, secretary and historian. She held numerous positions in the American Legion Auxiliary, and was a life member of the St. Alphonsus Hospital Auxiliary. Marie also was awarded the distinction of becoming a life master in the American Contract Bridge League.
Later in life she and her husband spent winter months in Mesa, Ari- zona due to Marie’s poor health. She loved to travel, enjoyed arts and crafts, being a homemaker, and devoted her life to family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, D. Max Daniels, of Boise; four children, Maxilyn Nicholson (Karl), Sondra Miller (Brent), both of Salt Lake City, Utah.; Dana Winward (Rulon), Preston, Idaho.; and Craig M. Daniels (Barbara), Centerville, Utah; 18 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Gordon V. Millward (LeRoyce), Littlefield, Arizona She was preceded in death by two grandsons.
Services will take place at noon at the LDS Fifth Ward Chapel, located at 20 S. 100 W., Malad City, Idaho. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at the Malad City Cemetery. Arrangements are by Benson- Horsley Funeral Home, Malad.
