Sara Rosalie Colton, 92, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and faithful servant of her community and church, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 9th, at home in Malad, Idaho. She was surrounded by the loving care of her son, Lon, his wife, Benita, and their daughter, Rachael.
Rosalie was born on April 14, 1933, to Pearl and Lawrence B. Wade, in Malad, and grew up amidst the rugged beauty of Idaho. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Eugene L. Colton, in the Logan Temple. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and devotion, moving between Malad, Seattle and Chubbuck, while raising a beautiful family of seven children: Michael Charles, Linda, David Eugene, Mark Grant, Kathleen, Matthew Lon, and Karen. That family has grown to include 31 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Rosalie exemplified unwavering dedication to her faith and community. She served in various capacities within her church, including Relief Society President, Den leader and teacher in practically every organization at church, touching the lives of countless individuals with her kindness and compassion. Her talents shined through her culinary skills, as well as in her sewing, quilting and tole painting, just to name a few.
Rosalie’s greatest joy came from her family. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing and supporting her children and grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured.  That legacy of love and service will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched, leaving a remembrance that will always remain bright.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene, who passed away in 2020, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment that will endure through generations. She was also the last surviving member of her birth family, being one of twelve children.
Rosalie is survived by her children, Michael Charles (Christee), Nibley Utah, Linda (Steve) Arbuckle, Malad Idaho, David Eugene (Celeste), Wheaton Illinois, Mark Grant (Sandra), Malad Idaho, Kathleen (David) Cordon, Papillion Nebraska, Matthew Lon (Benita), Malad Idaho, and Karen, Idaho Falls, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

Her spirit of love, generosity, and faith will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
