Life Sketch
Lorenzo Anderson was born March 8, 1879 at Wanship, Summit County, Utah. He was the son of Archibald King Anderson and Hannah Acomb Anderson, early Utah pioneers. Lorenzo grew up on the family farm and attended school in Wanship. In 1904 he came to Malad Valley to assist his brothers who were in the sheep business.
On September 12, 1907, he married Maria Hughes in Salt Lake City. To this union were born two sons and four daughters. One son and one daughter have preceded him in death.
For a number of years Mr. Anderson engaged in farming, then after selling his farm he went into the trucking business for about ten years. He later operated the Oneida Service Station where he made many friends among Malad people. During the war years Mr. Anderson went to Ogden and worked in the Government Supply Depot. He returned to Malad in 1951, where he has spent his last years in giving devoted care to his wife and daughter. Always kind and thoughtful of the welfare of others, Mr. Anderson has set an example in devotion to duty that all might emulate.
Mr. Anderson, passed away at the Oneida Hospital on January 18, 1958 after an illness of twenty days.
Surviving are his widow and one son, Loren Anderson of Portland Oregon, and three daughters; Mrs. Charlotte Chatterton and Mrs. Alta Sockrider of Ogden and Miss Mayme Anderson of Malad. One brother, S. L. Anderson of Samaria and five grandchildren also survive.
