Faith in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the unselfish love for their children, was the deciding factor to which James Arbon and Susan Newman encouraged their children to come to America.
Times were hard in England, and they wanted their children to have a better life.
As Members of the Mormon Church, they couldn’t live and worship as they wanted, so they willingly said goodbye to their children, knowing that they might never see them again.
They corresponded with them as much as possible, as the children started their new life in America.
